Manifesto finally reaching the shops

It just goes to show how despite the advances of modern technology, it still takes four weeks to get a book into a shop! The eBook version reached the Kindle fairly quickly, after just a week and it made it to the iBookstore after about two weeks. It made it to the Nook eBook store only today, some four weeks later. The EPUB edition of the eBook was distributed via Lulu, whereas of course Kindle only takes Kindle format and it was uploaded via the Kindle publishing website.

As for the print version, both Pocket and US Trade sizes are still missing in action. CreateSpace prints only from the US so that obviously brought in a significant delay for print samples of the US Trade size to arrive here in Ireland - typically, there was a printing error. Two more sample copies later with promises of rectification from the CreateSpace staff still did not fix the printing error. I decided to give up - it's only a small, if annoying, printing error, so I went ahead and gave it my assent for publication. In fairness, five days later the US Trade size edition is available for purchase from Amazon.com. In short, with CreateSpace one could have a print book on Amazon in about two weeks, whereas with Lulu it looks very much like it's going to take the full six weeks.

So, here's hoping it will go on sale very soon now ...

After a truly punishing last few days (like when is black a "rich" black???), I am glad to announce that the Manifesto has finally gone gold Release To Manufacturing (RTM) via Lulu, CreateSpace and Kindle Direct. I'm more than a week late getting to this stage which is unfortunate, but given the six week lead time to reach the major ISBN indices it ought to make it at the latest by December 4th. That said, the Manifesto is already available for sale, right now, direct from Lulu (US$1.99 eBook, US$6.43 Pocket Size), CreateSpace (US$5.49 US Trade Size) and Kindle (US$1.99 eBook). Other eBook devices may take up until mid-November.

Given the imminent release of the Manifesto into the world's bookstores and e-readers, it's time for a rebuild. Here we go!
